Ski Arpa operates in true alpine backcountry terrain. The information below outlines important operational guidelines to ensure a safe and seamless experience for all guests.

Ski Arpa operates by reservation only
Booking & Payment
All pricing is in USD.
Chilean peso payments are calculated using the official exchange rate on the day of service.
Weather & Refund Policy
Ski Arpa operates in high alpine terrain where conditions can change rapidly.
Weather & Operational Interruptions
If a scheduled day cannot be operated due to weather, mechanical issues, or other operational restrictions beyond your control, you may choose one of the following:
• Reschedule the canceled day, subject to availability during the current or a future season.
• Receive a transferable voucher for one equivalent day, valid for a future season.
• Receive a refund of USD 360 per person for each canceled catskiing day, or USD 900 per person for each canceled heliskiing day.
All operational decisions are made solely by our Lead Guide (with the Operations Manager for catskiing, or the Pilot in Command for heliskiing) and are final.. See our full Terms & Conditions for full cancellation and refund details.
Arrival & Schedule
Arrival Time
Please arrive by 9:15 AM.
Guests arriving after 10:00 AM will be considered a no-show.
Estimated Travel Times (good road conditions)
Los Andes / San Esteban: 1 hour
Santiago: 2h 15m
Portillo: 2h 30m
SCL Airport: 2h 15m (flights after 8 PM recommended)
A 4×4 vehicle is recommended for mountain access.
On the Mountain
All descents are guided.
Guests must follow guide instructions at all times.
Guides may divide groups based on skiing ability.
Typical guide ratio: approximately 1 guide per 6 guests.
The ski day typically concludes at 3:00 PM at Refugio Avalancha.
Failure to follow guide instructions may result in removal from the mountain without refund.
Equipment Requirements
Mandatory
Ski boots (guests must bring their own).
Avalanche beacon (provided if needed).
Safety Equipment Provided

BCA airbag backpack
Safety briefing before departure
Guests are responsible for any lost or damaged safety equipment (replacement fee applies).
Food & Facilities
Lunch is not included unless part of a package.
Snacks and beverages are available for purchase at Refugio Avalancha.
Guests may leave backpacks on the snowcat during runs.
Tap water is sourced from a mountain spring and is not treated. Bottled water is available for purchase.
Age & Liability
All guests must sign a release form onsite.
Guests under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Parents must sign a special waiver for minors.
Accommodation & Transfers
Accommodation and private transfers can be arranged upon request through our trusted partners.
